It started out as a semi lazy Friday… Jose and I crushed a game of badminton (feels so cool to say that because I don’t know any of the rules muahahahah) and went to our respective gym areas for a quick run. A 30 min easy jog, quick shower and a banana later, I met Jose in the lobby . He was on the phone… all excited “Really? thanks! You are the first one to call us. Thanks we will check”. ‘Please Lord let it be the lottery’ – I prayed. In a quick minute I realised two things: we hadn’t entered a lottery and our story was featured in The Khaleej Times – Same Same 🙂
Wow! This was exciting. We set off to buy a print version. Grocery store near home – no, Carrefour at Ajman City Centre – nope, Nesto Hypermarket – Not available, Al Manama – not here, Spar – is it on the rack? then no. Drove to Dubai: Carrefour (Deira City Center – no, Borders – we don’t carry, Virgin – no newspapers, (this was starting to feel like Pokemon Go!). News Center – Jackpot! We bought two.And here it is! Realised we were in a tiny column on the front page directing people to Page 5 – Man – it feels great!

A big shout out to Ankita, editor – author extraordinaire – she invited us home for the interview, was a gracious host. She had also invited Rahul, a photographer. We chatted like old friends and they made us feel at ease. My ‘Chandler like’ instincts must have vanished because he pronounced “OK” with a thumbs up after a volley of clicks. Little did we know that they would create a fantastic article from our informal chat.
The FB page of Khaleej Times shared a link to our post as well. Besides garnering over a 1000 reactions, some good souls have left wishes, complaints and abuses on the comments section. It is only fair to thank each and everyone of them for taking time out for us – for whatever reason.
The overwhelming response will only push us further to complete our transformation and keep living the fit – healthy lifestyle we have built. It also strengthens our resolve to pay it forward.

We run monthly challenges too. No – you don’t have to pay, you can play if you want, but we hope you’ll drop in from time to time, motivate the other monsters and stay connected.
